Sunteti invitati sa participaţi la seminarul ştiinţific de miercuri, 10.08.2016, ora 10.00, care va avea loc la sala de seminar din Secţia Laseri şi va cuprinde prezentarea Dnei Dr. Angela Datcu cu titlul „Caracterizarea fizico-chimică a nanomaterialelor compozite alcătuite din oxizi ale metalelor de tranziţie şi nanoparticule de carbon obţinute prin tehnici laser”, raport de faza la proiectul NUCLEU nr.: PN 16 47 01 02 „Sinteza, procesarea şi caracterizarea micro- şi nano-structurilor şi nanomaterialelor realizate prin tehnici laser, plasmă sau radiaţii”

Abstract:
Principalul obiectiv al acestui proiect este îmbunătăţirea semnificativă a activităţii fotocatalitice ale materialelor compozite alcătuite din oxizi ale metalelor de tranziţie şi nanonateriale de carbon. Metodologia laser propusă permite reducerea şi dopajul nanoparticulelor de carbon, depunerea de nanostructuri cristaline şi crearea de structuri de carbon poroase. Se preconizează ca toate aceste efecte să contribuie la imbunataţirea randamentul procesului fotocatalitic.
Datorită activităţii fotocatalitice, TiO2 este de interes pentru aplicaţii de mediu, cum ar fi conversia şi stocarea energiei solare sau disocierea fotocatalitică a compuşilor organici pentru tratarea şi decontaminarea apelor, precum şi purificarea aerului. De asemenea, suprafeţele de TiO2 sunt hidrofobe. Proprietatea de auto-curăţare este un efect determinat atât de caracteristicile hidrofile sau hidrofobe ale materialelor cat şi a reacţiilor fotocatalitice. Ca o consecinţă, acoperirea materialelor cu suprafeţe de straturi hidrofobe le conferă proprietăţi de interes pentru multe domenii tehnologice, de exemplu microfluidica, dispozitive fotovoltaice, dispozitive biomedicale, suprafete anti-bacteriene.
Cu toate acestea, eficienţa fotocatalitica a TiO2 este limitată datorită recombinărilor rapide ale purtătorilor de sarcină foto-generate. S-a dovedit că formarea de nanocompozite având component de bază TiO2 cu diferiţi dopanţi cum ar fi metale nobile, anioni, nanomateriale de carbon conduce la îmbunătăţirea eficienţei fotocatalitice ale suprafeţelor de TiO2. În cadrul acestei faze raportăm sinteza şi depunerea de materiale nanocompozite bazate in TiO2 prin metoda evaporării laser asistată matriceal (MAPLE).
