Laboratories
Advanced Technologies in Thin Films
We are able to deposit various thin films by RF magnetron sputtering or vacuum thermal evaporation. Sputtering involves ejecting material from a "target" onto a "substrate", while during evaporation the source material is evaporated in vacuum directly onto the target.
Atomic and Ionic Spectroscopy of Laboratory and Astrophysical Plasmas
Laboratory of Laser Induced Photochemistry
The Laser Photochemistry Laboratory (LLP) is part of the Laser Department of the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics.
Laser Spectroscopy and Optics Group
The group was founded, as the Laser Spectroscopy Group (LSG), in 1975 by Prof. Mihail Lucian Pascu, within the Institute of Physics – Bucharest (IFB) which belonged, at that time, to the Romanian Academy.
Laser Surface Plasma Interactions Laboratory
The "Laser-Surface-Plasma Interactions" Laboratory of the Laser Department has over 40 years of experience in the field of laser applications in medicine, biology, detection, optoelectronics, laser-surface interactions, laser material processing and laser-generated plasmas.
Lasers in Life Sciences, Environment and Manufacturing
Laser spectroscopy is a successful tool for detecting specific gases with high sensitivity and fast response time.
Photonic Proccesing of Advanced Materials Group
The group was organized in 1996 under the guidance of Dr. Maria Dinescu and is made up of a dynamic team of young and experienced researchers, as well as several technicians.
Quantum Dots, Nanopowders and Thin Film Group
Quantum dots, nanopowders and thin films" within the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics has considerable experience in: laser deposition of various thin films, quantum dots, nanopowders, nanocomposites, nanowires, SAW sensors and biosensors, dye-sensitized solar cells and quantum dots, micro and nanoprocessing.
Nonlinear Optics and Photonics Laboratory
The Nonlinear Optics and Photonics Laboratory was established in 2018 through the merger of 2 groups from the Laser Department-NILPRP.
