The invention relates to a process for preparing an active element for gas sensors. According to the invention, the process consists in the physical immobilization of AchE enzyme in and on the surface of a polymeric film of polyethylenimine, using the laser evaporation technique, resulting in a layer with an increased number of enzymes bound per adsorbent unit, with sizes in the micron range, of controlled characteristics and enhanced chemical stability.
